Streem is the ANZ market’s leading challenger media intelligence group, delivering comprehensive and realtime Print, Online, TV, Radio and Social media monitoring, insights and reporting. From its market launch in 2017, Streem has grown rapidly to service over 1000 of Australia and New Zealand’s largest corporate and government organisations including Telstra, Qantas, Bunnings, Woolworths, Lendlease and more than half of the federal government.

Technology and people are at the centre of Streem’s growth, with a team of 170+ account managers, engineers, product specialists, media analysts and a leadership team driving the company’s platform and market offering.

Founded by CEO Elgar Welch and CTO Antoine Sabourin, Streem was acquired in December 2021 by Cision, the world’s largest media intelligence group. It continues to operate as an independent brand with a strong local management, including the company’s original co-founders.

Streem is based in Sydney, Australia, with staff across Australia, New Zealand and the support of a global team throughout Cision.

Company History.

 

2013

Elgar Welch, a former adviser in the Prime Minister's Office, and Antoine Sabourin, a senior full-stack software engineer, create Streem to deliver realtime media monitoring and analysis.

2014

Early-stage customers begin using Streem's Desktop + Mobile platform, helping to drive innovation in the media intelligence sector.

2015

Streem becomes the first media monitor to introduce realtime broadcast tracking, as well as adding realtime audience data and analysis to the platform.

2017

Streem launches its full-service offering across Online, Print, Radio and TV, and welcomes new shareholders including Quantium's Tony Davis, former ACCC Chairman Graeme Samuel and former AAP Media Research Group MD Keith Forbes.

2018

Streem releases Instant Insights, a tool allowing media teams to quickly and accurately analyse coverage as it unfolds.

2020

The company moves to its current Surry Hills head office, where more than 100 staff now work and dine together each day.

2021

Streem Social, the first fully integrated social intelligence tool designed specifically for communications teams, is launched.

2022

The company is acquired by leading global communications intelligence company Cision, joining brands PR Newswire, Brandwatch and Falcon.io as part of the full-service Cision offering across Australia and New Zealand.
